We are thrilled that we celebrated Friendship Week in February! This special week is a cornerstone of our school calendar, dedicated to celebrating the bonds that make our school community so vibrant and supportive. Our goal was to highlight the importance of establishing and maintaining healthy friendships, practicing kindness, and ensuring everyone feels included and safe.
Throughout friendship week, the children engaged in a variety of meaningful activities designed to strengthen their social skills and deepen their understanding of what it means to be a good friend.
Here are some of the things we got up to;
- Friendship Activities & Lessons: Every class spent time discussing the qualities of a good friend—such as respect, loyalty, and empathy. From creating “Friendship Bracelets” and posters with kind messages to performing drama scenarios and taking part in cooperative games, there was something for every age group.
- The Big Friendship Quiz: Our senior classes participated in a fun quiz.
- Decorate Your Door Competition: We turned our hallways into a gallery of kindness! Each class was challenged to decorate their classroom door with a friendship theme.
- Friendship Watcher & Secret Friends: Older students acted as friendship watchers with younger classes for yard time and gave out raffle tickets to those showing kindness. Many classes took part in a “Secret Friend” initiative, where students perform small, anonymous acts of kindness for a classmate throughout the week.
Overall, Friendship Week was a resounding success that left a lasting impression on our entire school community. Congratulations also to Deirdre’s 1st class for being the winners of the ‘Catch the kindness’ raffle tickets.
Thanks to our student council for judging our door competition and congratulations to our Door Winners of 2026
