Principal’s Welcome
Welcome to Ashbourne Educate Together National School
Ashbourne ETNS is a state funded, co-educational, multi-denominational school. We are under the patronage of Educate Together. We share the same core values as our patron body. We are child-centered and democratically run. Through our Admissions Policy we guarantee equality of access and esteem to students irrespective of their social, cultural or religious background. We welcome every child to our school and endeavour to include all in everything we do.
Ashbourne ETNS first opened in 2012. In 2016, we moved into a state of the art 18 classroom building. Our school has 16 mainstream classrooms and 2 classrooms that cater for children with a diagnosis of autism. Our ASD classes, ‘Evergreen’ cater for 12 pupils.
There are currently 412 pupils enrolled in our school. Inclusion and integration is at the heart of everything we do.
Our patron’s curriculum, ‘Learn Together’, is an ethics based curriculum. It includes learning about values and ethical perspectives; equality and justice; belief systems and an ethical approach to the environment. Learn Together teaches students about different belief systems as well as atheism, agnosticism and humanism, without promoting any one worldview over another.
As a school, we strive to help all our children reach their full potential. We respect the individual abilities and talents of the child. We strive to develop each pupil in a holistic sense whilst instilling a sense of belonging and empathy. We expect all in our community; pupils, staff and parents/care-givers to always try their best. Respect is an integral aspect of our school. We endeavour to work collaboratively and collegially in our school while always respecting one another, our environment and our school culture.
Our vision is to create a vibrant, positive and friendly culture in our school. We strive to a have a school that provides a friendly, respectful, safe and inclusive learning environment. We aim to work in close partnership with our school community to provide a place that celebrates and recognises diversity, individuality and the need for inclusion. Our staff strive to offer the highest level of teaching and care, thus ensuring the learning, inclusion and happiness of our pupils.
My ambition is that each child who attends Ashbourne Educate Together National School graduates our school as an individual who possesses the skills and know-how to navigate society and live a happy life. I want all children who leave our school to carry with them positive and happy memories of their time in primary school.
Thank you for visiting our website.
