Explosive Learning & Ancient Adventures in Sal’s 4th Class!

Apr 21, 2026

This term, 4th Class has been bubbling with creativity and curiosity! In Science, we got hands-on by designing and building our very own volcanoes using paper mâché—messy, fun, and full of learning. We explored how volcanoes work and what causes them to erupt, and used this knowledge to write detailed explanation texts.

We also travelled back in time to Ancient Rome, where we learned all about Julius Caesar and life in this fascinating period. Linking with our history topic, we developed our report writing skills, carefully researching and presenting information. Throughout both our explanation and report writing, we focused on drafting and editing our work, improving clarity and making our writing as engaging and informative as possible.

We also loved creating our Friendship Week door display. We focused on Random Acts of Kindness. We were delighted to see pupils from around the school take a Random Acts of Kindness card from our door and use them in their daily interactions.

We are a class full of fantastic artists, and this was evident during our exploration of Japan, where we focused on different types of art originating from the country.

A fantastic term full of creativity, history, friendship and growing confidence in our writing!
