We celebrated Seachtain na Gaeilge in the week leading up to St. Patrick’s Day. This year our celebration focused on Gaeilge and Irish culture. We were very excited to have a visit from Meath ladies footballers, Clodagh Millington and Katie Bermingham.
We also had a visit from Fergus Russell. He talked to the senior classes about life on Inis Meain and gave a rendition of some traditional sean nós songs.
All classes got the opportunity to attend a performance from our school band in the hall and participate in the céilí in the halla.
Throughout the week, some of our other activities included a daily raffle for our frásaí an lae, comórtas ealaíne, tráth na gceist, pharáid scoile, shared reading between the senior and junior classes, assembly glás and a pop up gaeltacht in the seomra foirne. Bhí féile iontach againn.
